NEW - 4/29/09: Criminal Justice Mental Health and Substance Abuse Reinvestment Act Matching Grant Funding RESTORED!

Earlier today, the Senate agreed to take the House position on the Reinvestment Grant funding. This means they restored the $2 million in the DCF budget that was eliminated in the Senate’s original budget.

This $2 million is combined with $1 million in the Department of Corrections budget (it was not cut by either side) to bring the grant funding to a total of $3 million statewide.

Many thanks to all of you who made calls and sent letters to your delegation members and leadership. This was definitely a group effort with our community-based friends, Partners in Crisis and the SAMH Corporation!

REMEMBER: Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Reinvestment Grant conference on July 23-24 in Orlando. It will be an ideal time to catch up on best practices and to share your successes with fellow grantees. Watch for additional details!
