The Florida Substance Abuse & Mental Health Corporation, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, presents Prescription Drug Abuse & Proper Disposal.

If individuals do not register and attend as themselves, they will not appear on the report which will be given to Florida Council for Behavioral Healthcare who will be taking care of CEUs. Marchman Act Workgroup
The DCF Substance Abuse Program Office has assembled a workgroup which includes two Corporation board members, Judge Melanie May and Judge Mark Speiser, and Corporation Executive Director, Ellen Piekalkiewicz, to explore issues in implementation of the Marchman Act. The goal of the workgroup is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Marchman Act and to recommend solutions to make the act a more useful tool.
The Marchman Act workgroup will be holding three meetings to allow local feedback from consumers, the courts, and providers:
- Tallahassee, March 26, 9 a.m. – 12 noon; public hearing 1 – 3 p.m.
- Orlando, May 7, 9 a.m. – 12 noon; public hearing 1 – 3 p.m.
- Ft. Lauderdale, June 9, 9 a.m. – 12 noon; public hearing 1 – 3 p.m.
Meeting locations will be announced closer to date of meetings.
